Life History
"If stories come to you, care for them. And learn to give them away where they are needed. Sometimes a person needs a story more than food to stay alive." -Barry Lopez, Crow and Weasel
"Life itself is the most wonderful fairy-tale of all." -Hans Christian Anderson
What do you want your children and grandchildren to remember about you?
Life History presents you with an opportunity to share your life and memories with your loved ones. It is also a chance to complete any "unfinished business". The storytelling/interview process may bring healing to past hurts in a family, fill in gaps of memories, and preserve memories that may be lost if not recorded.
It involves a series of interviews conducted with you or an elderly relative. Each interview addresses a particular stage of life. The Life History process serves several purposes: preserving memories, exploring the meaning of ones life, ascertaining the purpose of a lived life.
Interviews are recorded and preserved on an MP3 file. They can be transcribed as well and converted into a print document.
